A Retreat for Neurodivergent Women
Join us for a transformative one-day retreat designed specifically for neurodivergent women (18 years +) who are Autistic and/or ADHDers. Whether you are formally diagnosed or self-identify, this nurturing retreat offers a safe and supportive space to explore self-care and personal growth.
Hosted by the skilled clinicians from The Kidd Clinic, this reflective, educational, and engaging program embraces a neurodiversity-affirming approach. It features thoughtfully designed activities and accommodations to cater to sensory and comfort needs. You'll have opportunities to connect with your neurokin, immerse yourself in nature, and dedicate time just for you.

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Educational Workshops
Session 1: Neurodivergent Identity
Delve into your neurodivergent identity by enhancing self-awareness and building effective self-advocacy strategies. This session fosters open discussions that affirm your unique experiences, while celebrating your strengths and equipping you with tools to thrive.
Session 2: Navigating Neurodivergent Burnout
Neurodivergent Burnout differs significantly from traditional burnout. This session will provide ways to recognise the signs of burnout and how to navigate and relieve symptoms. A path towards wellbeing and prevention will be discussed.
Break Out Sessions
Gentle Yoga: Enjoy mindful movement and gentle yoga practices that focus on cultivating calm, body awareness, and 'decompressing' (overwhelm relief). Using Adaptive Yoga, this accessible session welcomes everyone to find their own pace and comfort level.
A Neurodive into Self-Support: With our TKC-developed neurodiversity-affirming self-support questionnaire, we’ll explore six key life domains and assist you in crafting realistic, accessible tools designed to improve and simplify your daily life.

SESSION PLAN
Attendees will be organised into three groups, and within these groups, they will rotate through all of the breakout sessions. You will receive a digital Retreat Guide containing more detailed retreat information two weeks prior to the event.

MEET YOUR PRESENTERS
DR THERESA KIDD
Dr Theresa Kidd (Clinical Psychologist) draws upon lived and clinical experience and the social model of disability to enhance mental health services and quality of life for neurodivergent individuals. She is dedicated to supporting and empowering families and to training educators and health professionals in Neurodiversity-affirming practices, Autism, ADHD, and mental health.
DR MIRIAM KIRBY
Dr Miriam Kirby (Clinical Psychologist) has a passion for identifying and supporting Autistic women and girls from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective and providing training across a range of settings on related topics. It would be an understatement to say that Miriam is extremely excited to be involved in the NeuroNurture retreat.
MELANIE TURNER
Melanie is an endorsed Counselling Psychologist and has been practising for 17 years.
Historically, she has worked, she has worked across all areas of mental health and has vast experience with anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, emotional regulation and more.
Melanie is very interested in working with neurodivergent adults and older teens (16 and above) and has a special interest in late diagnosed Autistic/ADHD women.
ACACIA CRUMP
Acacia (Registered Psychologist) is passionate about working with the young and young at heart. She works to create a safe, empathetic, collaborative space for her clients to achieve their goals and live by their values. Acacia is a certified Adaptive Yoga instructor.
ALEX MOWAT
Alex (Registered Art Therapist with ANZACATA) has worked with neurodivergent children, adolescents, and adults for several years. She is dedicated to offering a safe, creative, and non-directive space for individuals to explore their conscious and unconscious feelings.

If you are self-managed or third-party-managed, you may be able to use your funding for this event. If your child or adolescent has parent education in their plan, you may be able to use your NDIS funding to attend this event. You can check with your/ your child's LAC or Plan Manager if unsure.
We welcome babies under 6 months of age to attend.
Our yoga class will be gentle and restorative. We will be offering lots of alternatives and accommodations throughout to suit all body types and fitness levels. The class will be beginner friendly and no previous yoga is required.
Our yoga philosophy is if you can breathe, you can do yoga. Our adaptive yoga instructor will give lots of adjustments and options throughout to suit all bodies and abilities. However, nobody knows your body like you do, so all classes and sessions are optional and if you would prefer to sit out that is always your choice. Please let us know about your physical condition so our teacher can tailor options that may be more comfortable for you.
Due to retreat costs we need to charge for the full day however if you would prefer to wander the beautiful grounds during a session you are welcome to do so.
We will have quiet areas available if you don't feel like talking to others or are needing some quiet time. Sensory tools will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
No, self-identified and formally diagnosed women are welcome.
While this process is not as fast as paying with card at the checkout, you can register for this event by following the steps below.
1. Fill out the Request for Invoice Form.
- This form asks for information about who the ticket is for, who to address the quote to & NDIS Plan information (where relevant).
2. Pay the quote sent to you by The Kidd Clinic (this may take up to two working days to receive).
- This quote will include bank details to transfer to as well as the reference to add to your payment.
- Our Events Team works part time, therefore, it may take up to two working days to receive your invoice. If you are worried about whether we have received the request please contact us by emailing events@kiddclinic.com.au
3. Pay the quote & send The Kidd Clinic proof of payment.
- The Kidd Clinic has different payment details for their Events and Therapeutic business arms. If you are also a client of The Kidd Clinic, please be sure to make the payment out to the details listed on the quote and with the listed reference.
4. Receive your ticket from The Kidd Clinic!
- Once we receive proof of payment we will send you your ticket. Depending on what day we receive proof of payment it may take up to 2 working days for you to receive this.

Please note: With this process, your ticket is only secured once you receive the confirmation of registration email with your ticket attached.
Paying by using your bank card in the checkout secures your ticket & registration for the event immediately. Whereas, when paying by direct transfer, your ticket is not secure until proof of payment has been received by The Kidd Clinic.
Some of the community are wanting to attend but currently do not have the financial means. If you are interested sponsoring another person's ticket (partially or in full) please get in touch with our team by email (events@kiddclinic.com.au) to discuss the process.
Within the function centre, a small 'bridal suite' will be available for attendees who are breastfeeding and/or pumping. As this is the only private room available, attendees will need to take turns or share this space. For attendees wanting privacy, a roster sheet will be on the door of this room to slot in a time to have this room to yourself. Features of this room include a lock on the door and mini-bar fridge where breastmilk can be stored.

Please note that any training materials created and provided by The Kidd Clinic are for ticket holders only and cannot be shared without prior consent. The recording will be accessible for 30 days following the live event, but please allow up to one week for it to be uploaded.
