Event Program
Introductory Course - Monday 19th of May 2025
Gain a comprehensive overview of the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) model. This session will cover key themes, the use of assessment tools, and how to solve problems collaboratively with children.
Advanced Course - Tuesday, 20th May 2025
Take a deeper dive into the CPS model, exploring its various facets in greater detail. This course features extensive video examples and offers ample time for questions and in-depth discussions.
Both courses will include:
- Interactive Lecture
- Video Demonstration
- Q&A Session
- Introductory Course: If you are new to the CPS model or looking for a foundational overview, the Introductory Course is perfect for you. (Limited tickets available, so don't wait!)
- Advanced Course: If you've already completed the Introductory Course with Dr. Greene, you may opt for the Advanced Course. Please note that attending the Introductory Course is a prerequisite.
For a complete understanding and practical application of Dr. Greene's methods, we highly recommend attending both courses.
By the end of this training, you’ll be able to:
- Understand the Key Shifts in the CPS Model: Learn about focusing on problems, using collaborative (rather than one-sided) problem-solving, and the importance of proactive (vs. reactive) intervention.
- Identify Lagging Skills and Unsolved Problems: Learn how to use the Assessment of Skills and Unsolved Problems (ASUP) to pinpoint where children need support.
- Understand Plans A, B, and C: Discover the three ways adults typically handle unsolved problems and unmet expectations, and learn how each plan works to address challenges.
- Implement Plan B Effectively: Get practical tools for solving problems, teaching new skills, and reducing challenging behaviours through Plan B.
- Overcome Barriers in Schools: Understand strategies for addressing the challenges that might arise when implementing the CPS model in school environments.
- Navigate Common Roadblocks: Learn how to tackle obstacles you may encounter while applying CPS with individual children, families, and systems.
Takeaway:
You’ll leave with a solid understanding of the CPS model, including its updates over the last decade, plus practical tools for assessment and intervention that you can apply right away in your setting.
Please note:
Completing the Introductory and Advanced CPS Training is a prerequisite to applying for the CPS certification training. Completion of the certification training is required for those who wish to provide the CPS model in their school, treatment, or clinical setting.
